A four-bedroom farmhouse nestled on the edge of our working farm steading in North Sunderland, near Seahouses in north Northumberland, surrounded by arable and pastoral land with uninterrupted views extending seaward to the east, and across peaceful farmland towards the Cheviot Hills in the west.

Recently renovated, layered with colour, patina, and long-held family belongings, the Blue House is so-called because of its blue slate roof, visible from afar and, in times gone by, its distinguishing feature in the landscape.

An ideally situated base for hosting family and friends, away from it all with easy access to the best of the Northumberland coast- vast skies, rolling seas, countryside, heritage, food, and wildlife.

The kitchen is fully equipped for home-cooked meals. The aga is always on, and always cosy. You’ll find modern appliances and all the kit you need for cooking, and a farmhouse kitchen table at the heart of it all. In addition to the aga, there is a new electric oven, hob, and 3-in-1 microwave/oven/air fryer.

The library was made for cosy firelit evenings and quiet afternoons, with wood burning stove, vintage HiFi system, and book-lined shelves. Or, settle down in the snug - pull the cork-lined door closed and enjoy the TV and soundbar.

In the sunroom, light pours in from the garden, with doors taking you outside. A beautifully-aged antique table takes centre stage, alongside lounge seating and gallery artwork.

The sunroom rolls into the garden with a lawn to run and play on, bench seating, barbecue and fire pit for long and blissful summer evenings. On the shorter days, our heralded dark skies reveal awe-inspiring stars, deep into the night.

We’ve taken care of practicalities, too, with a decent boot room and utility at the back door, equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, stainless steel sink, and a downstairs loo.

Upstairs, there are four double bedrooms with king-size beds, and a family bathroom with huge walk-in shower and separate bath. The master bedroom has its own ensuite with shower and dressing room. There is an additional, separate WC upstairs, too.

Our comfortable Ercol beds all have deep, sumptuous mattresses and crisp linen. One of the king beds can be split into two small single beds, ideally suited to children. Luxurious fluffy towels are provided.

The setting is a farm - you will see some of the workings of our real farm life. The house sits at the edge of the steading, its outlook onto green fields where cattle and sheep graze during the warmer months, hares skip and pheasants strut. Farmland extends all around, with the sea in view in one direction, and hills in the other.

You can be at the sea in five minutes, with all of the glorious Northumbrian coastline on your doorstep.
